[CD] Vol. II: Mission Of Mercy is Plaid On Flannel’s second full-length album, released in 2013. The 20-song LP came out before there was a Plaid On Flannel band in Toronto. Blossoming Nolan Randall’s repertoire as a singer-songwriter. While establishing a signature alternative indie blues rock sound. With lots of rockin’ tunes that could eventually played with a band.
The 80-minute record proved to be a large leap forward from the previous album. With up-tempo heavy rockers such as “Competition” and “The Rambler”. As well as playful acoustic driven songs like “Pay Attention” and “One Man Band”. Featuring a strong emphasis on lead guitar and vocal harmonies throughout the whole record. Half of the tunes on the album were eventually performed with the Plaid On Flannel band. And 6 of those songs were re-recorded with the band for 2 EPs in 2016-17.
